Dan, Andrea, Julia, Mira and Elie, I am so sorry for your loss. Growing up and spending time at the Gelatt house, laundry was on Sunday, you always had a side salad with dinner, and olive oil keeps the pizza sauce from soaking into the dough when you make individual pizzas. You should avoid word games, unless you want to get beat! Roberta was always interested in what/how you were doing and you were always welcome. She was exceedingly patient, kind, had a great sense of humor and always made me feel comfortable. I feel lucky to have spent time with her in DC and California recently. I will miss her. Love to the Gelatt Family

Dear Dan, I am so sorry for your loss of your wonderful wife! She was special in so many ways. I so appreciate, in particular, her contributions to the Women's Fund of Greater La Crosse. I was honored to receive the Women's Fund Roberta Zurn Award in 2017 and I in no way can come close to what she did in her life to help people. Because of that and her memory, I renew my dedication to helping others and to also the memory of my husband and soulmate, Ron Schnick. Roberta reminds me of him in so many ways and that is saying a lot! May you find peace as you move through your life. I have found that peace and I am truly at gratitude for having Ron in my life and I hope for you the same. All my best, dear neighbor, Roz

Roberta had so many talents but was so very humble. I met her through our shared volunteer interests in adult and children's literacy. As the people who knew her were aware, she improved the lives of many in our community by taking action for the betterment of others.

Dear Julia and Andrea, I remember how kind your mom always was to me when I would come play at your house. She seemed to find everything we did amusing, despite the various messes (making those weird smoothies, or that whipped cream fight). I'm thinking of you both, and honored to have memories of your amazing mom. Love, Anne

To Roberta's family: I knew her peripherally through her sister, Debbie and Debbie's friend, Keren, and admired her all of my adult life as she represented the best that a woman could be and the most that a woman could give to her community. It was especially nice to see her year after year at the La Crosse Symphony where she and Dan occupied nearby seats. As the lights went down and the music rose, all of us together were swept away. I wish all of you peace as she is swept away again while still remaining in your hearts forever.

Daniel, Andrea & Julia and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Roberta was a moving force and leader for over 12 years service as a member of the LCF Board of Directors. The organization was blessed to have Roberta's considerable intellect and her personal willingness to really study issues, needs, and solutions for effective grants. Those grants improved so many lives, especially the lives of children in our community. Personally, I am grateful for Roberta's steady patient mentorship. Roberta's passing is a loss for the entire community. May your family be comforted by your memories of this great woman. Rest in peace, Roberta K.
