Guestbook for David F. Peschau

Dear Matt and Chris, I hardly know where to begin in expressing my sympathy to you and to all of your family. Your Dad and I go way back. We graduated from Luther College together and during those years we shared many good times. He and I would work banquets together for our respective fraternity and sorority. We always managed to have a lot of laughs and were good at needling each other. We were both outspoken in our political views and didn’t hesitate to “correct” the other! ( I bet that you didn’t know that he would wear a SUIT quite often around campus… and this was the 60s!) I know that it was such a surprise to both of us, several years after graduation, when we found ourselves living and working in La Crosse. We were even members of the same church! Again, ironically, as the years passed, we shared the same babysitter for our children. It seemed inevitable that our paths were meant to keep crossing. During those years, your Dad and I would pick up, just where we left 1966 in Decorah, Iowa. I’ll miss our banter. There was only one “Dave.” I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you both and to your Uncle Dick and family.

I am a retired RN who worked with Dr Conway in Radiation. It was a great honor to get to know both your Dad and Mom. They both handled their illnesses with much dignity and were a joy to help take care of. My deepest sympathy.b

Dear Matt and Chris, We will miss your dad a lot and will think of him and your mom too every time we gather for dinner group or couples bridge. We will remember all "the good times"! They were fun to be with and great friends for over 40 years! Our sympathy, Bill and Pat Shepherd

I enjoyed working with Dave when he was in the media and I was in the Legislature, and then enjoyed our many social visits in later years. He was a busy man -- I usually saw him at an airport! I enjoyed his enthusiasm for life, love for community and his sense of humor. And I know he was so deeply proud of his family. To Matt, Chris and your family, my sympathy in your loss.

Chris and Matt I am sorry for your loss. He was a great man who I enjoyed talking to. Sometimes he would have dry humor and I could catch myself taking a moment to laugh. He will be missed. He had two great sons.

My condolences to David’s family and his brother Dick. David was a friend from college. He was a very interesting character, one might even say unique. Above all, he was a friend to me and everyone he knew.
