Guestbook for Darlene Gertrude Schiffer
sign guestbook

Hey "21".... i'm so sorry I missed this. Darlene is someone that I have always remembered....she gave me a St Christoper medal when I left the New Villa and headed off to Madison. Looking back, I know I gave that medal a workout, but I've never forgotten her. Heaven's a better place with her there!

So many times over the years I think back to the close-knit group of friends I had the privilege of working with at New Villa; your mom being one of them. She was kind, gentle, hard working and always a pleasure to be around. I offer my sympathy to your entire family, with special mention to her daughter, Deb - who I also worked with. May memories of the wonderful person she was be of comfort as you mourn her death. Sincerely, J. Isabella Jiménez (formally Jeanne Proksch) Beaufort, SC

I am so heart broken to hear of the passing of Darlene. She worked with my Mom at Glens Bar and Pizza....my Mom was quite fond of her. She walked to work, as she lived blocks away, and would always stop to say hello/chit-chat with myself, my sisters, or my Mom if we were outside. My Mom really missed her when she accepted a new job...but, they still were in contact with each other. She attended my Moms funeral when she passed....she was always so kind to my family. I know of some of the kids....we were in school together...I feel so sad about her passing....but, I do believe Heaven has gained a wonderful new Angel. Words are hard to say when a family member passes...it is like your whole world stops.....but...please know, on behalf of my whole family.....we offer our deepest sympathy, prayers, and thoughts at this most difficult time. ….I know how hard it is...death is never easy...my parents passed when they were quite young....please know you and all family members are in our prayers.

We extend our condolences to her family, the world was a better place because of Darlene. We enjoyed visiting with her at the Olson reunion each year.

Darlene and the Schiffer clan were close neighbors for many years on Avon Street. The Genz and Schiffer families shared many great experiences through the years. I visited Darlene on my last visit to La Crosse this year. I will miss her wonderful smile and laughter. Sympathies to the family.

With deepest sympathy I am so very sorry that I cannot come to your mother's funeral. We have a 70th birthday party for my husband that day. She was a wonderful mother to your family. I know you dearly loved her and your hearts are broken. Most sincerely, Rose
