I had the pleasure of working at Gerhard's while Mike worked upstairs. I you look up "nice guy" in the dictionary, Mike's picture would be there. Debra Barr, Cheryl Hanson and Karen Dunn also worked there during this time period, and all three of them had nothing but good things to say about him on Facebook and good memories of him. May he rest in peace, and may God stay with his family to help them get through it.

Dear Deb and family - we are sorry for your loss. Mike had such a love for life, always smiling, ready with a joke or funny story. Mike (Hickok) played in a volleyball league with Mike and they had a great time. As time went on we lost touch but Mike was always in our thoughts and prayers.

Deb and family, your obit is magnificent! Mike was a person that loved people and life itself. I’ve laughed with him every time we’ve talked...without exception. That’s since we were 16 maybe longer. That lower jaw would drop to assure you that a belly laugh was ok. A brilliant personality. He loved you, Deb. Your love and loyalty. My heart has been heavy since his accident, by now he’s with his companion Zeus. Love to all! Michael.

We're sorry to hear about Mike's passing. We have many good memories of company Xmas parties with you, and Wayne still talks about the conferences he and Mike attended. He was a funny guy. Because of Wayne's health we can't attend the service but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike was always a wonder to be around with an energetic, positive and simply fun approach to everything he accomplished. His friendships he created was a gift we all loved. And he could accomplish anything he set out to do. There was nothing he could not get done. I It was a privilege to have known Mike and will miss him until we can meet up again.

I remember when mike was a patient at Gundersen, and we worked with him in Physical Therapy what an awesome attitude he had with what he was dealing with. He was very happy and uplifting to the PT staff, and his faith was so evident. My prayers go out to his family at this time. And yes he did tell us about the mustard.

Deb, Allison, Mike Jr, and Holland. We were both saddened to hear the news of Mike's passing. Mike was a very special person with a huge heart and a great big infectious smile, all the time, we never saw him not smiling. Running in to you, Deb and Mike at the middle school when Holland and Elizabeth (in the same class) had events and Mike always wanted to talk to Paul about trains. Mike was the tallest guy with the biggest smile and the best personality, you knew he just loved everyone. We followed along with Mike's progress after his life changing accident and always had a prayer for him, now he is with the Lord, still smiling I bet.
