I had the honor and pleasure of Rich's friendship while working for the School District of Holmen. Rich always made time to stop by my classroom to see how things were going. He was so kind and caring. His smile, his pats on my shoulder, and his hugs always warmed my heart and brightened my days. He truly was a wonderful man who will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I remember Rich's kind and gentle spirit; the pat of his hand on my shoulder; his warm, loving smile; his welcoming nature. I have had the honor of knowing Rich for most of my life, and I can say, without a doubt, he will be missed by many, many people, myself included. Please find comfort in God's promise of eternal life. My deepest sympathy to all. Such a kind, kind soul.

Rich was our honorary parade marshal for many years touring the coulee region parades in our Viking ship. He always came to our rescue in keeping up the ship. He was a Holmen fixture that will be greatly missed.

Rich was a dedicated member of the Holmen Area FD from 1959 through 1984 serving for 25 years. During this time period the Holmen Area FD was vastly different requiring the ingenuity and dedication of members like Rich to overcome the challenges of the times. His service to the community is valued. We thank him and his family for the many years of dedicated service, countless interrupted family dinners and events as he selflessly responded when called. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these challenging times. HAFD Chief Manley

He came into my shop one day, expecting to visit with the former owner. We immediately liked each other and he continued to frequently stop to visit. His favorite visits were in the summer when we bought ice cream and sat on the bench outside my shop to talk and watch the traffic go by. We always parted with hugs. It was an honor to know him and be his friend.

Steve and Ron, your dad was an amazing man. He led a fruitful and full life and was loved by all. You will no doubt miss him greatly, but hopefully he is in a better place once again with his beloved Janet and her sister Donna. May he rest in peace. I was glad to have known him. Love, Uncle Bob.

I remember Uncle Rich as a kind, generous man always ready with a cheerful smile. I'll never forget his famous Lefse which was a special treat for us at Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Ross's. Steve, Ron and all, I pray for your comfort in this time of grief. Please be assured of my prayers for you, your families, and for the repose of your dad's soul. May he rest in peace -- good and faithful servant that he was. Love, Jackie
