Arlen and Rae took me and my two, small children under their wings when we became neighbors. I remember mowing our yards and sharing beers, food, and so many laughs. Arlen was forever cracking wise! He was a fine example of a son as many of those afternoons he would pick up his Mom from the nursing home to join us. Arlen gave my son, Nick, many rides to school and danced with my daughter, to her “Barney “video on Helen”s second birthday. Arlen called her ‘ Helenore”because she called him ‘Arnore. “ He was always willing to give advice, and I suspect that had he not approved of my husband who would be, Andy, things may have been different. But he did. And both he and Rae honored us by being the host and hostess on our wedding day. How blessed my life has been by knowing Arlen and Rae. Arlen adored Rae, and was an attentive father to his own children. I look forward to to the heavenly reunion that will be! Heaven has become just a little more colorful!

Arlen will be missed by us and many others. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, great jokes and storytelling. Arlen had such a positive attitude about everything. Always an optometrist. Gone but not forgotten.

I always enjoyed a visit with Arlen when at Kevin & Roxann Johnson’s. He was such an interesting person with many stories about his life. He was such a hard working man. He was always proud of His children their spouses and especially his Grandchildren. Their accomplishments surpassed his dreams for them. He had some struggles with health issues but was optimistic and tried hard to indure. He is at peace. My deepest sympathy to the family.
