Guestbook for Marian D. Pavela
sign guestbook

I've been blessed to know Marian, (Mrs. Pavela) my whole life, she is my Godmother and lifetime family friend. A wonderful thoughtful, generous lady full of grace and kindness, quick wit and always a personal word or gesture and loving smile...she has touched so many lives in a positive way, mine included. She will be missed by many but never forgotten. My deepest condolences to my dear Godfather Steve and the whole Pavela family. I am sorry that I was traveling overseas and unable to attend the services and pay my respects to all in person. Marian has surely been welcomed into heaven with open arms...I like to think that she and my Mom are planning a wonderful dinner party there together and having a grand time watching over us all. Sending lots of love to Steve and the Pavela family. Love, Ellen

Our deepest sympathy to the Pavela family, especially Tom and Anne on the loss of your mother. Whenever we would "run into" your Mother and Father they were so very kind. We know that she is resting in the arms of the angels! Thinking of your entire family and hoping memories will sustain all of you!

To the Pavela family, First I'm sorry for your loss. You have your memories. She was one of my favorite customers at Quillins. I worked in the bakery and deli. She was such a delight.

Words can't express the grievous feelings we have for Steve and his family members. With the passing of Marian, we have lost not only one of La Crosse's finest female icons, but half of one of La Crosse's Greatest Generation married couples. As a team, Steve and Marian understood what it was to be a true American, and did more for their State, city, community, and country than can be imagined. Marian was the best thing to ever happen to Steve, and he was the bast thing to ever happen to her. Their marriage was full of good and some tough times, but it was never without LOVE. Marian was one of the finest women Barb and I ever met, and we have been blessed to know her, and proud to be able to call her our friend. May she rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Pavela family. I was a very long friend of there's for many years. I worked at Degen Berglund and they were great customers of mine. They even gave me a small gift when I was let go. I always yelled at them during the Oktoberfest parades. Even took there yearly photo of them on the float. Made sure they got a copy of it. Steve and Marian were the kindest people anyone could ask to be friends with. Will miss her deeply. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet later.

Marian was her own form of currency. She spent herself in the service of others; family, friends, church and charities. I will fondly remember her warmth, her genuine caring nature and her always ready smile. We were lucky to have been gifted with her presence, and I will miss her...a lot.

Marian was such an incredible woman and selflessly did so much for others. There wasn’t a single time that I ran into Marian where I didn’t leave feeling better. Her Catholic faith and her loyalty to Aquinas were exemplary..a true role model. We all learned from her what t means to be Christian. If I may quote Coach Nockels, “If Marian Pavela doesn’t go to heaven, I’m going to quit trying.”
