Dear Tierney Family, My heartfelt prayers, sympathy, and love are with you. Mike was the best teammate! He was a tremendous talent on the football and baseball fields helping bring home the State Championship. Playing Shelby VVA baseball games and tournaments with him were the best moments. It is my sincere hope and love that even in the sadness of a friend, a brother, and son who has passed into the light before us, there may be everlasting joy in a life lived fully bringing a smile to everyone who knew and loved him.

Cindy, it’s been years since we worked together at FSH, but I literally felt like you were a 2nd mom to me in those years in Occupational Health. I am SO sorry and heartbroken to hear of the loss of your son, from one mom to another I cannot even imagine the depths of your pain. I only met Mike a couple times, but like you he had the sweetest smile that could light up any room, I believe that same smile is lighting up the Heavens above us now. Prayers and love to your family at this sad time. Renee (Rank) Wesener

Pat and Cindy -- My deepest sympathy to you and your family. In Mike, you raised a kind and gentle hearted Son, who had the intelligence to test and question what the deeper meaning of life is, in his search in his search for that deeper meaning. I believe he now knows, and rests in the peace and love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Love and Prayers.

My condolences to Michael's family. I know he loved you all deeply. I have been along time friend of Michael's, and his smile and personality will stay in our hearts forever. When he became a Real Estate Agent at a local firm with me, he was asked to introduce himself to his colleagues. He stood up, beaming from ear to ear in his pink dress shirt, and said "I'm Michael Tierney, 30(?)years old, Virgo, and single" and sat down!! Not quite what the broker expected, and the whole room broke out laughing! The world needs this humor & light-heartedness, we all needed & cherished him.
