Helen Marie (Knudson) Hoyer, 93, of Holmen passed away Monday, September 7, 2009 at Franciscan Skemp Health Care.  She was born in Stevenstown, WI., on August 22, 1916 to Lewis and Josephine (Pfaff) Knudson.  On November 29, 1947 Helen married Arnold William Hoyer.

Helen worked for La Crosse Rubber Mills for thirty-four years retiring in 1980.

She was a forty year member of the Legion Auxiliary, a member of Naomi Circle, and life member of Holmen Lutheran Church.

Helen's hobbies included quilting, making Christmas card baskets through Holmen Lutheran Church, and baking for family and friends.

She was also very proud being a Cub Scout leader.

Helen is survived by her loving husband Arnold of sixty-one years; three sons, George (Elizabeth) Hoyer, Larry (Alycia) Hoyer, and Dean (Ann) Hoyer all of Holmen; three grandchildren, Natalie Hoyer of Franklin, WI., Denise Hoyer of La Crosse, and Chris Hoyer of Indio, CA.; one brother, Louis (Darlene) Knudson of Galesville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gary Hoyer; one grandson, George Hoyer Jr.; two brothers, Roger and Ralph Knudson; and three sisters, Violet Knobloch, Lucille Knudson, and Joyce Osborne.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Holmen Lutheran Church, 228 Morris  Street.  The Reverend Dan Henderson will officiate and burial will take place in Greenmound Cemetery, rural Holmen at a later date.  Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 515 McHugh Road, Holmen on Friday form 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service
