Obituary for Rosemarie Moran

Rosemarie "Jackie" Moran, 88, of Onalaska passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Gundersen Medical Center. She was born in Milwaukee on April 28, 1929 to Ross and Delia (La Comb) Lapham. They moved to La Crosse where Rosemarie attended and graduated from Logan High School. After graduation she went to work for Helke Optical in La Crosse. Through an acquaintance she met her husband Russell. Rosemarie married Russell on July 15, 1961 in the United Methodist Church in Onalaska. They moved to Beloit, Wi for Russell's employment, but returned to settle in Onalaska after the birth of their first child. They remained in Onalaska in their same home until recently.
Besides being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was on the "Banner Gang" along with her close friends, Diane, Sonjia, and Kathy at the Onalaska United Methodist Church. Many of those banners are still used to this date.
Rosemarie is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Moran of Onalaska and her children, Jake, Ahri, Jaysen, Jaden, and Jameson Moran; and Julianne (Alan) Potter of Warrens and her children, Megan (Derik) Atkins and their children, Lillian and Wyatt; and Nicole (Dustin) Burkwalt and their children, Gracynn and Dax; a son, Jonathan Moran of Onalaska and his daughter, Alisabeth; and a sister-in-law, Sheryl Lapham of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Rodger.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 401 Main Street, Onalaska. Pastor Jeremiah Cochran will officiate and burial will be in Onalaska Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
