Obituary for Rosalie Jean Kriesel

Rosalie Jean (nee Potter) Kriesel, 74, of Melrose, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born in Sparta, WI on March 8, 1943 to Harvey and Helen (McMahon) Potter. She later married David Kriesel on December 2, 1961 and together they celebrated 56 years of marriage. Rosalie and David were also long term proprietors of Holmen Berry Corner.
Rosalie loved antiquing and shopping with her friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flowers. The holidays were always very special to Rosalie and each one would be decorated accordingly. She would also put great effort in creating family traditions during the holidays and those traditions will be rememberd for generations. Above all else, Rosalie loved her family very much and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, David Kriesel, her children; Brian Kriesel, Matthew (Megan) Kriesel, and Jodi (Paul) Eide, brothers and sisters; Valeria (Gordon) Hessleberg, Gale Potter, Jeanette (Irvin) Rath, Jeaneta O'Neal, Marleen (Galen) Berg and Dennis Potter, grandchildren; Melissa (Zach) Iverson, Courtney (Justin) Scheel, Kaylee, Kevin, Jessica, Samantha, Nick and Elliot Kriesel, and Jillian Eide, and two great-grandchildren, Paige and Owen Iverson, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dean Potter.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church, W16679 County Rd D, Ettrick. The Reverend John Ashland will officiate and burial will be in the Green Mound Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. The Dickinson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
