Obituary for James A. Krett

James A. Krett, 90, of La Crosse passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at his home. He was born October 31, 1927 to Joseph and Alberta (Hemleben) Krett. On March 3, 1998 James married Gloria D. Thompson and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2004. He served in the U.S. Army with the 45th Infantry Division in Korea.
James worked at Trane Company for 50 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was also a member of American Legion Post 52. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting and loved to sit outside on his deck and feed the animals.
James is survived by three stepdaughters, Shelly (Stewart) Roloff of Holmen, Colleen (John) Morchinek and Teresa (Roger) Mathieu, both of Stillwater, MN.; three stepsons, Andrew (Barbara) Thompson of Beloit, WI., Dale (Paula) Thompson of Holmen and Joel (Catrina) Thompson of Mittie, La.; 16 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; cousins, Patrick McMenamy and Nancy Dahl; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Robert Krett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston Street, La Crosse. The Reverend Brian Konopa will officiate and burial with Military Honors will be in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the service.
