Obituary for Walter "Wally" Buchholtz

Walter "Wally" Buchholtz, 57, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Marinuka Manor in Galesville after a 15 month battle with cancer. He was born May 3, 1960 to Orvis and Elizabeth (Anderson) Buchholtz.
Wally worked at Northern Engraving as a screen printer for over 30 years. He was an avid sports fan and was very involved in La Crosse Park & Rec softball as a pitcher and later as an umpire for many years. Wally also enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Nicole (Joseph) Lepsch of Onalaska and Shannon (Marc) Jandt of Galesville, three grandchildren, Noah, Joy, and Noel sisters, Stephanie (Michael) Galstad and Lisa (Darrell) Urban both of La Crosse, brother, Todd Buchholtz of La Crosse, nieces and nephews, Tiffney and Jeff Galstad and their children and Jordan and Hayden Urban, and girlfriend Kelly Hamilton and her daughter Raeann.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his care team at Gundersen; Ashley and Joni for their compassion and assistance, Marilyn and Liza from the Gundersen hospice team, and the staff at Marinuka Manor. Also, thank you to the Bakalars family for always being by his side.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson Street, La Crosse. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
