Harry John Gouff, 88, of La Crosse passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home. He was born February 25, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Harry and Wilda (Tedderington) Gouff. He graduated from Redford High School in 1947, then attended Wayne State in Detroit. Harry served in the U.S. Army for two years. He met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Woodward, and on April 18, 1953 they married at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in La Crosse. They moved to Detroit and lived there for two and half years, then moved back to La Crosse. Harry worked for Allis Chalmers for 9 years before being hired by Trane Company where he worked for nearly 25 years.
Harry is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; his children, Georgia (Kurt) Gross, Douglas (Deena) Gouff, Stephanie (Jerry) Powers, Eva (Fred) Lee, Damian Gouff, Angela Gouff, and Mary (Garrett) Perkins; his fifteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; He is also survived by his sister, Fay Brown; sister-in-law, Linda Gregory; and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Gregory; and a grandson, Harrison Powers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 130 Losey Blvd. South, La Crosse. Fr. Matthew Marshall will officiate and burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
The Dickinson Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
