Donna Jean Dummer, 63 of Holmen passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Gundersen Medical Center, La Crosse. She was born on July 13, 1954 to Carl and Helen (Zeimentz) Pedretti. On June 29, 1974 Donna married James Dummer. Donna touched the lives of many as she taught fifth grade in the Holmen School District for over 38 years.
Donna loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She would drop anything to help others and she enjoyed doing it. Caring for and spoiling her grandchildren brought her the most happiness. Two rules she lived by were to always have a positive attitude and to be kind to everyone. Donna believed that every day was a gift. After her faith and her family, some of her favorite things were the Green Bay Packers, WI Badgers, breakfast with family after church, get togethers with former classmates and coworkers, and watching game shows on TV.
Donna will be deeply missed by her loving husband, James; daughter, Jill Marie (Max) Zukowski of Cottage Grove, WI.; three sons, Jacob Thomas (Angela) Dummer of Blair, WI., and Joshua David (Hilary) Dummer and Joseph James (Courtney) Dummer both of Holmen; twelve grandchildren, Lila, Caleb, Vivian, Jonathon, Isabela, Olivana, Cecilia, Mya, Jaxon, Zoey, Tate, and Theodore; four sisters, Mary Jo McDonald, Rose (Rolf) Tornow, Helen (Bruce) Schwier, and Betty (John) Thiel; two brothers, Richard (Bette) Pedretti and Pete (Mary Lee) Pedretti; three step sisters, Peggy (Solon) Hanson, Pat Paul, and Nancy Bass; and two step brothers, Ken Schaller and Thomas (Debbie) Schaller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; and step mother, Marge (Schaller) Pedretti.
Mass will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 515 North Main Street, Holmen. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and again on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
