Lynn Kenneth Schultz, 77, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at Mayo Health Center surrounded by his family. He was ready to meet the Lord.
Lynn was born January 16, 1941, to Kenneth & Stella Schultz. He grew up in Gilmanton working on the family farm and attending Gilmanton Schools. In 1957, Lynn joined the US Navy, serving on the USS Davis 937. Lynn was proud of serving the Country he loved and the opportunity to visit numerous foreign countries.
In September 1963, Lynn married Betty Nelson in Alma, WI. Lynn attended National Hardwood Lumber Association Inspection School in Memphis, TN. After school Lynn and Betty settled in Holmen where they raised their family. Lynn worked at sawmills, eventually buying his own sawmill. After retirement he worked as a parking attendant at La Crosse Airport. (This was his favorite job!)
Lynn was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying many hours on Lake Onalaska and fishing trips with his brother and brother in-law. His dream was to go to Alaska which he fulfilled with his brothers in 2009. He was a master handyman and could fix anything. Lynn served as a Holmen volunteer fireman for 16 years.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Betty. Children & grandchildren. Nikkola Schultz, Holmen, Daniel (Erica) Schultz, Annalisa Schultz, Ryan Schieble of West Salem, Corrina (Carl) Weinberger, Madalyn, Lauren, Gabrielle of Ellicott City, MD, Jolynne Schultz, Jonah, James of Holmen. His sisters Joyce Borgwardt, Elnor (Lowell) Kent, Brothers, Leon Schultz, Lorn (Kristi) Schultz. In-laws Robert & Darlene Brotzman, Larry & Darlene Nelson, Donald & Bonnie Nelson, Robert & Julie Nelson, Lynn Nelson & fiancé Ellie Mcleod, Aunt Eileen Smiskey, Uncle Harlen Schultz and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Stella Schultz and in-laws Lyle & Teresa Nelson, Charles & Shirley Peterson, and Darrell Borgwardt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 515 N. Main Street, Holmen. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, July 19th from 5-7 pm. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Msgr. Delbert Malin will officiate and burial with full Military honors will be at the Green Mound Cemetery. The Dickinson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
