Mary Rose Moritz, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born to the late Charlotte Sabby and George Graefe on December 1, 1953.
Mary’s life was defined by relationships, both family and friends. Mary was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She raised four children, they were the ultimate center of her world and she was their sun. Mary celebrated each new member of the family that followed, her son/daughter-in-laws and grandchildren, each brought more joy and light into her life. She was so proud of her family, a family that was shaped by her unconditional love. In 2010, she moved to La Crosse to begin a new chapter in her life. It is amazing the amount of friendships that Mary built during that time. She had a special way of making connections with people, it was out of real care and concern for others. Mary was a truly selfless and generous person. She enjoyed doing and giving to others in order to make them feel special, to help someone out, or to simply put a smile on a person’s face. Her friends were her family as well.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Carissa Brudos (son-in-law, Jason Brudos) and Corrie Brague (partner, Daniel Schmitz and grandchildren, Almann, Ever and Onnalee Brague), her sons, James Moritz Jr. (daughter-in-law, Tina Moritz and grandchildren, Julius and Braxton Moritz) and Jeremy Moritz (daughter-in-law, Megan Moritz and grandchildren, Makinley and Breck Moritz), her brother, Chuck Sabby, and two sisters, Diane Jehn and Barbara Grenier. She is also survived by her ex-husbands, Keith Imm and James Moritz Sr., and her life partner, Troy Rohweder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte Sabby and George Graefe.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 11 a.m. at the Pettibone Gazebo at the Pettibone Park located at 700 Pettibone Drive North in La Crosse, WI 54601. Friends may visit the family at the park, a picnic lunch will be served.
