Obituary for Mabel E. Hooverson

Mabel E. Hooverson, 95, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Hillview Health Care. She was born December 21, 1922 to Ludwig and Martina (Chose) Scheck.
On June 17, 1944 she married Richard C. Hooverson. Richard and Mabel farmed in the Stoddard and Chaseburg area before moving to La Crosse in 1971. Mabel worked many years at Hillview Health Care in the laundry department, retiring in 1984.
Mabel is survived by her two sons, Robert (Rita) of rural Stoddard and David (Cathy) of La Crosse; her daughter, Nancy Hoff of La Crosse; eight grandchildren, Russ (Angie) Hooverson, Rochelle (Brian) Weaver, Scott (Christine) Hooverson, Brian (Jaime) Hooverson, Travis (Amanda) Hooverson, Casey (Brant) Sommerville, Jennine (Cory) Leis, and Julie (John) Hagen; twenty four great grandchildren, Max and Sophia Hooverson, Ella, Cole, and Ty Weaver, Doug (Linda) Bento, Cody (September) Strey, McKenna, Britta, Alivia and Braxten Hooverson, Paige Halverson, Carter Halverson, the twins, Clayten and Laney Hooverson, Brooklyn and Cannon Hooverson, Bailey, Lauren and Ellyce Sommerville, Cody Leis, and Brett, Hailey and Tyler Hagen; four great great grandchildren, Heaven, Riley, Sophia and Antonio Bento.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on July 25, 2007; her son-in-law, Eddie Hoff in January 2008. Her parents; seven brothers, Otto, Lawrence, Adolph, Walter, Leonard, Ludwig, Bernard, and their spouses; two sisters, Minnie Haugen and Laura Kuehl and their spouses; three nieces, Evelyn Worthington, Diane Pierce and Mildred Johnson; and two nephews, David Hatch and Walter Scheck Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2720 26th Street South, La Crosse. Pastor Jonathan Rimmert will officiate and entombment will be in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The Dickinson Sletten McKee Hanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, La Crosse or Hillview Health Care Auxillary.
