Neil Loran Sanders, age 69, of La Crosse passed away October 16, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 14, 1949 in La Crosse to Charles Joseph Sanders, Sr. and Neava Lorraine Sanders. Following High School graduation in 1967, he served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1981 then the Reserves until 1987. He ended his Naval career as a Chief Petty Officer FMF Corpsman. He was married to Mary Catherine Peterson of La Crosse on August 14, 2009.
In his many careers he chose to serve his fellow man just as he did in the service. He was a Project Manager for an Alzheimer's brain study at the VA for 2 years, Post Office 6 years, Ambulance EMT, Courier Dispatch, West Salem First Responder, Chief Deputy Medical Examiner for La Crosse County, State certified Para-transit instructor and driver for Top Hat, Inc transporting disabled, handicapped and elderly to appointments until his first battle of 5 with cancer in 2008 when he was forced to retire; He also was the Managing member and Producer for Hidden Truth Productions, LLC==The Hidden Truth? Documentary.
Things he loved: He loved the times traveling the country with his two boys Jason and Kevin. Spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Packers with his friends Scott Johnson and Paul Solberg, watching racing, playing poker--which he was a sly one at that. He loved riding his Harley, "Miss Lorraine", especially during the changing of the seasons--he loved the colors of fall but not the temperature. He really enjoyed sitting and talking with his wife Mary talking about life, family, spirituality and enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of nature.
He was a very compassionate man. He loved making people laugh. Whether he'd known you all his life or he just met you--he was always good for a joke of one kind or another--"Too keep you on your toes". He will be missed more than anything!
He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Jason (Chasity) Sanders, Kevin (Stephanie) Sanders, Robert Revels, and Jon Eldridge; Grandchildren Alan, Emily, Benjamin, Anna and Gabriel; His sister Sherry (Eugene) Lundak, aunts, uncles and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles J. Sanders, Sr. and Neava L. Sanders; infant brother Dennis Michael (1943) and brother Charles J. (Bud) Sanders, Jr., Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and his best friends Harold (Buck) Lindvil, John Steers and John "Little John" Dougherty.
