Ann K. Dopp, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her home after a long 12 year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born December 26, 1940 to Harrison and Genevieve (Solberg) Witte. Ann graduated from Melrose High School in 1958. She attended La Crosse College, where she met her husband John.
On December 28, 1960 Ann married John F. Dopp. They lived in Abingdon, MD. for the duration of John's military career, stationed at Army Chemical Station MD. In 1962 they moved to the Dopp family farm in Ettrick, WI. where they raised four daughters.
Once all the daughters were in school full time, Ann worked at the Trempealeau County Courthouse for 22 years. After retirement, Ann and John spent time traveling and camping. She enjoyed reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for being a great cook.
Ann is survived by her loving husband, John of 58 years; four daughters, Kathleen (Jim) Thill of Ettrick, Sarah (Tom) Jostad of Holmen, Jennifer (Ron) Hovell of Centerville, and Laura (Mike) Running of Holmen; seven grandchildren, Devin (Devyn) Gorka, Matthew Thill, Zachary (Brenna) Karbula, Jacob Karbula, Erin Hovell, and Nicholas and Peyton Running; and a brother, Bruce (Marilyn) Witte.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son-in-law, Eric Karbula.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 20237 W Ridge Avenue, Galesville. Pastor Alan Hanson will officiate and burial will be in Pine Cliff Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, June 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Gundersen Health System Hospice Program for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Galesville; The Alzheimer Association, 1523 Rose Street #8, La Crosse, or Gundersen Medical Foundation Hospice, 1836 South Avenue, La Crosse.
