During that time, they were deployed in the Netherlands, Washington DC, Germany, Hawaii, and Missouri. They retired to Wisconsin to be closer to Tom’s family in 1998.
After moving to Wisconsin, Abbie became involved in fostering children and specialized in helping sibling groups in long term fostering situations. She continued her service until her diagnosis in 2018.
Thomas and Abbie shared a lifelong love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and travel. During their time in Germany and the Netherlands they explored Europe together. After coming back to the United States they loved to take motorcycle trips on their Harleys to hit the open road. When their children graduated and became independent, they bought an RV to extend their travelling and had many great adventures touring the country.
Her family remembers her as a determined and passionate person who cared immensely for children. After moving to Wisconsin Abbie loved hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas, bringing the family together. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
